ʻEua Whale Swim:

Our whale swim tours usually leave between 8-9am and arrive back 4 hours later between 12-1pm. We guarantee whale watching on our tours, but whale swimming is always a privilege and always up to the captain and guide on the day. Having said that, we are lucky enough to experience a >95% success rate for swimming with the whales, with passenger and animal safety being our main priority on unsuccessful trips.

Due to being in the open ocean, some sort of swimming experience is recommended. The most important thing to us is that you are safe and enjoy your trip with us. If you are nervous in deep water, scared of being in deep water that you can’t stand in, or see the bottom, please let us know. We don’t want to stop anyone from having a great day, but for that, we need our guests to be as open and honest with us as they can. We have dealt with it all before and our crew and guides promise to look after you as much as we can. Please advise us at booking on the boat before your swim.

Your tour will include all equipment hire, snacks and water onboard with lunch awaiting you at the lodge upon your return. Our guide and captain will be on hand to answer any questions you have throughout your tour, although our safety briefing should cover all you’ll need to know about getting in the water and what to expect. Swimming groups are a maximum of 4 people per guide, with our boats holding only 8 swimmers per tour.

One thing we can definitely tell you about the nature of nature is that every swim is different, even on the same day with the same whales, and that it will be a very special and unique experience to you and your group. We also recommend that you bring your own camera to capture your unforgettable experience, however, your crew will be taking shots of your tour and the whales so that you don’t spend all your time looking at your camera screen. We offer a variety of in-water and onboard photo and video packages for purchase which we can send via WeTransfer or your own USB stick/computer (recommended).
